Community Outreach

Leader: Allison Waterworth

The purpose of the St. Francis Episcopal Church Community Outreach Committee is to provide activities which the greater community will want to participate in or avail themselves of.  Currently the main activities of this committee are the monthly Speaker Series and the Music Series.  The Speaker series includes a broad variety of interesting topics and speakers, specifically thus far: the History of Novato, the Marin chapter of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI), Meet a Muslim, and Homelessness in Marin.

Future events will include other community events, such as walking the Bay to Breakers in May 2019 with other Marin Churches.

We welcome anyone on our committee who has ideas on speakers or community building events that strengthen the bonds between our church members and between our church and the larger community around us.

To learn more or offer suggestions, please email Allison Waterworth at Allison@DrWaterworth.com.

The most recent Speaker Series, "Homelessness in the Bay Area" was presented by the Downtown Streets Team and was well recieved by the community and congregation.

"I was so touched by the grace and authenticity and honesty of the two team members who spoke of their experiences before and now after the DST came into their lives. I am going to write thank you cards to them because I think it will mean a lot to them to know they were 'seen' and that what they said really mattered to us." - Betsy Guthrie
